Another rabbit hole, this time on a topic close to my heart: coffee. After setting up a gaggia classic from 2003, I wanted to confirm why it truly was a financially reasonable decision, in addition to making wicked coffee. So I built a simple calculator to find out.
Based on a smart switch, the system countes every time the machien is turned on, loggeing it as 1 coffee. It also has the current bean I am using and its cost p. KG estimating a rough cost per cup which I benchmark against rough coffee prices in Stockholm, which alows me to see a break even on machine and grinder, with both fixed and variable costs.
